Dr Rosette Lidereau, Centre René Huguenin, Saint-Cloud, FRANCE

The Centre René Huguenin is a non-profit institution devoted to research and treatment of cancer. The centre has access to cancer clinics (~ 1000 new breast cancer patients yearly) and has a long medical and biological expertise in breast cancer. The Oncogenetics group led by Dr Rosette Lidereau has long experience in the analysis of the molecular mechanisms leading to breast cancer progression mainly based on the study of several genes as molecular prognostic factors (correlation with relapse-free survival).

More recently, they have developed a similar approach on metastatic samples to define genes specifically involved in the metastatic process. CRH has been building a collection of samples of metastases from various organs and primary breast cancer tumours and this will be made available to the other partners in the project for genomic and proteomic analysis.

Activities in MetaBre: collection of tissue samples, gene profiling, functional analysis
